This study examines the ways in which the great international organizations of the Western world - the UN, CSCE, NATO, the EC and WEU - should be seeking to work in co-operation to stem the flood of turmoil that characterizes the post-Cold-War world, and may even threaten the very existence of the present security community. In a series of chapters, the contributors each represent a view from the standpoint of a different organization, consider how a new and well-orchestrated structure, based upon the great organizations, might be devised in order to recreate stability.
