The book presents a novel technique for creating regular arrays of Fibronectin nanofibrils, enabling precise control over their directionality and diameter. This method is versatile, allowing for the production of nanofibrils from other extracellular matrix proteins like Laminin and Collagen. It showcases the biofunctionality of these nanofibrillar arrays through specific cell adhesion on non-fouling PEG hydrogels. Additionally, the molecular structure and mechanical properties of Fibronectin nanofibrils are explored using Förster Resonance Energy Transfer and Atomic Force Microscopy.
