The Frequency Dictionaries series aims to create dictionaries with comparable frequency data across various languages, making it the first comprehensive compilation for many featured languages based on a large empirical base. Available in both print and electronic formats, each dictionary lists the top 1,000 word forms by frequency and the top 10,000 in alphabetical order. It includes an introductory description of the data and methodology, along with language-specific statistical information on letters, word structure, and structural changes based on word frequency. The accompanying CD-ROM offers a more extensive e-book version, presenting relative frequency data for up to 1,000,000 word forms alphabetically. This series allows exploration of comparative linguistic topics and monolingual issues, such as word formation studies and frequency-based lexical examinations for dictionaries or language teaching. The dictionaries are carefully edited to eliminate errors, while the full list on the CD-ROM is generated automatically from predefined standards. Data sources include the Leipzig Corpora Collection, with information drawn from online news articles, Wikipedia entries, and random texts from the Internet, which can be accessed at http://corpora.uni-leipzig.de/.
