The Frequency Dictionaries series aims to provide dictionaries with comparable frequency data across various languages. For many languages included, this collection represents the first extensive compilation based on a large empirical foundation. The dictionaries are available in both print and electronic formats. Each dictionary features the 1000 most frequent word forms ordered by frequency, along with the 10,000 most frequent word forms listed alphabetically. They include an introductory description of the data and methodology, as well as language-specific statistical information regarding letters, word structure, and changes in structure based on word frequency. An enclosed CD-ROM offers a more comprehensive e-book version, detailing the relative frequency of up to 1,000,000 word forms in alphabetical order. This series allows for exploration of comparative linguistic topics and monolingual issues, such as studies on word formation and frequency-based analyses of lexical areas for dictionaries or language teaching.
