This book features the top papers from the International Conference on Web Information Systems and Technologies (WEBIST 2007), organized by the Institute for Systems and Technologies of Information, Control and Communication (INSTICC) and held in Barcelona, Spain. The conference aimed to unite researchers, engineers, and practitioners focused on technological advancements and business applications of web-based information systems. It covered four main areas: internet technology; web interfaces and applications; society, e-business and e-government; and e-learning. WEBIST 2007 attracted 367 submissions from over 50 countries. After a rigorous double-blind review process involving more than 200 experts, 23 papers were selected for publication, showcasing innovative solutions in e-business and web information systems. This stringent selection process made the conference appealing to a global audience of engineers, scientists, business practitioners, and policy experts. The accepted papers highlighted the challenging technical problems in the field, emphasizing the need for further research and development. Additionally, the conference featured three keynote lectures by distinguished researchers, further enhancing the event's overall quality.
