    Cyklus temných fantasy příběhů, který vzešel ze spolupráce scenáristy Jeana-Pierra Dionneta s kreslířem Jeanem- -Claudem Galem, se odehrává ve fiktivním barbarském dávnověku. Zatímco Dobyvačná vojska jsou řetězec mikropříběhů popisujících fantastický svět metodou „najít celé moře v každé kapce vody“, Arnova pomsta a Arnův triumf jsou klasické příběhy typu „hrdinova cesta“ a nabízejí pád a vzestup mladého vládce v krutém světě plném nájezdníků a podlých intrik. Spolu s už vydanou Diosamante (Argo, 2018) navíc dostává český čtenář do rukou téměř kompletní dílo fenomenálního a bohužel předčasně zesnulého Jeana-Clauda Gala, jehož neuvěřitelná barokně rafinovaná kresba dodnes ohromuje čtenáře. Díla byla oslnivá už v původních černobílých vydáních; nynější skvěle kolorovaná edice je posunula ještě o stupeň výš.
