En savoir plus sur le livre

These three stories were originally published as e-books in the years from 2013 to 2017 and all have the background of England in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. In the first, The League and the Charter, the scene is set in the period from 1839 to 1852 and the two great political movements of that time - the working-class Chartist movement, and the Anti-Corn Law League - an alliance of industrialists, merchants and businessmen. The second, Living a Lie, looks at life in England from 1917 to 1960 and its background is the divorce law of that time, which was only available for the privileged few and rarely accessible to ordinary people. The third, A German Bride, presents England from 1946 to 2005. A British serviceman meets a German girl shortly after the war, they marry and go to live in an England where daily life was in a process of rapid change. I have great pleasure in presenting these stories now in book form and hope that they will give pleasure to those who read them.
