Nearly 100 years after the first attempt to establish an English colony on Roanoke Island, the Native villages and settlements on Hatteras remained intact. The Hatorask and Croatoan people were still living independently alongside the ever-encroaching English invaders. 1681, England: Wrongly accused of witchcraft in England and branded with a "W", a young healer is imprisoned and transported to the colony of Carolina to be a tobacco planter's wife and servant.
