En savoir plus sur le livre

Judy and Me is the posthumous publication of Alice Jean (Hodder Hoyt) Garland’s memoir printed in 2004 and reprinted in 2007. Alice, known as Allie Jean and the Anglican Minister’s daughter, recounts the adventures she enjoyed with her best friend, Judy, during the fabulous 50’s in North Sydney, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. The author's vignettes transport the reader to a simpler time when teens listened in on party lines, jived to the jukebox at the soda shop, watched Elvis movies at the drive-in theatre, and when the church was the hub of the community. This first published edition includes photographs and other mementos of Alice’s life. The foreword is written by her eldest daughter, Allison Hoyt Hannah. It was published as an elegy to Alice on the 10th anniversary of her passing. Judy and Me is a gift to anyone who reads it. Alice was a gift to everyone who knew her.
