Jumbo, as a pup, is imprisoned by a cruel master, once grown he escapes, leaving behind a trail of violence, terror, and destruction. He's on the run, following along winding path, trusting no one, for aging off the land, living like a wild animal, trying to survive in a hostile world he does not know or understand. He finds himself on the Smoky Hill River, a quietserene place he feels he can call home. The calm is soon interrupted by Ol Razor, the dangerous feral boar who roams the river. Jumbo, seriously injured and near death, is befriended by Charlie Mayfair and Millie Elliot, local teenagers who unknowingly place him in the hands of evil people. Now he must face a world few knew existed and even less have experienced. A cast of colorful characters, along with the author's unique humor, and a shockingconclusion, will keep the reader mesmerized from beginning to end.
