En savoir plus sur le livre

Language is one of the identity characteristics that constitute a Nation and no other social event is more universal and more essential than language. Brazil is, according to its history, a multilingual country, with numerous communities that do not only have Portuguese as their mother tongue, for example, the languages spoken by communities of Brazilian citizens, such as indigenous people, immigrants, Afro-Brazilians, deaf communities, among many others. This work aims to present an investigation about the contributions that Linguistic Policies present at the national level, with a special look at linguistic minorities, in which we will explain the historical panorama and the paths for the recognition and valorization of minority languages in Brazil.
