At first glance, the town of Stegasaurus is a peaceful place nestled in an isolated region. But something sinister lies beneath its placid appearance making it a virtual battleground between good and evil. The town is full of spirits and ghosts, in-laws and outlaws, the old establishment versus outsiders, and a disturbing past in conflict with mid-1970s ideals. She is an English teacher who is married to Isaac Marston and the mother of two eight-year-old Harley, who encounters difficulties with the town bully and his nasty cousin, and thirteen-year-old Meg, whose outspoken belligerence and outrageous antics often defy comprehension. As a spirit and incarnate, Rick Carter battles an outrageous host of forces, including a bumbling school superintendent named Elmo Bumpkiss Binkie, Binkie's bratty daughter Clara, a ghost named Hiram Polecat, Hiram's malicious relatives and descendants, and finally, Margaret Ruth Marston (Meg), who challenges him from the beginning.
