This book is a fictional, historical love story about a rich Cajun from a plantation near Plaquemine, Louisiana and a French Mademoiselle from the Champagne Ardennes Region in France. Captain Louis Forchet, United States Army meets Janine Arneau a few days after the end of World War II combat operations in France. The story tells of their romantic interludes while in France and reflects their trials and tribulations after coming home to the United States as man and wife. The story reveals the love life of their teenage daughter, Elizabeth Forchet, during the 60s and describes the intrigue, violence and tragedy she endures because of her beauty and because of the financial status of her parents. The story contains explicit sexual activity between fictional heterosexual lovers who are the main characters in the story. The settings for the story in France and in the United States are geographically real and historical revelations described in these settings are factual recollections of the author. The characters and their activities described in the story are pure fiction. The story contains language and sexual activity that may be offensive to some readers.
