The longer ending of Mark's Gospel has been traditionally accepted but is often viewed as a later addition by modern scholars. This work argues against that perspective, asserting that early church fathers were familiar with this ending long before the earliest manuscripts. It highlights the consistency of language and style with authentic Markan passages, along with specific linguistic features and literary devices that suggest Markan authorship. The findings propose that the ending was omitted in later transmissions, likely during the second century in Egypt, rather than being an addition.
