Focusing on the challenges of bacterial infections in dental and orthopedic implants, this work explores enhancing titanium's properties for better performance in medical applications. It highlights the formation of titania on titanium surfaces and its cytocompatibility, while addressing its lack of antibacterial properties, which contribute to implant failures. The study proposes a novel approach to create thick titania and conducting polymer coatings through anodization, aiming to improve corrosion resistance and incorporate antibacterial properties without compromising mammalian cell function.
