The thesis explores the interplay between crime and migration among underclass youths from Curacao, who often face poverty and inadequate education. Many drop out of school to support their families, leading some to resort to crime or migrate to the Netherlands in search of better opportunities. Upon arrival, they face significant challenges such as housing and employment, which can drive them back to criminal activities. The research highlights the systemic issues that perpetuate this cycle of poverty and crime among these individuals.
