The study investigates the historical context of child protection in Scotland, particularly following the 1992 Orkney inquiry and its lingering effects on social work practices. It examines perceptions among child protection workers regarding recent abuse inquiries and their influence on current policies. Utilizing crystallisation as a research methodology, data was collected through interviews and questionnaires. Findings reveal a dual impact on child protection: while collaborative approaches are valued, there is a noted reluctance among social workers to fully trust children's allegations, raising concerns about potential risks.
