Focusing on individual difference variables such as willingness to communicate, motivation, language anxiety, and boredom, this book explores their impact on learning English in the virtual environment of Second Life. It presents a theoretical overview of these factors, including definitions and empirical studies, followed by an empirical investigation involving six English majors. The findings reveal the evolving nature of these constructs during virtual interactions and discuss their interrelationships.
