This novel, originally published in 1910, tells the story of a Texas ranger named Chick Bowdrie who must track down a group of outlaws who have been terrorizing the local community. Along the way, Bowdrie must confront his own demons and prove himself to his fellow rangers. The book is a classic example of the Western genre, with plenty of gunfights, chases, and showdowns. What sets it apart, however, is Raine's skillful characterization and evocative descriptions of the Western landscape. A Texas Ranger is a must-read for fans of the genre.
