The narrative follows Danilo, a good-hearted boy whose decision to skip school leads him and his friend Carlo to the Chocolate Hills, where they encounter the Evil Giant, resulting in their transformation into tarsiers. While Danilo eventually returns to human form with the help of a monkey, Carlo remains missing, prompting Danilo to embark on a quest to rescue him.
