En savoir plus sur le livre

The life of Samuel Butler is marked by a tumultuous relationship with his family, particularly his father, and a profound questioning of faith that led him to emigrate to New Zealand in 1859. There, he worked as a sheep farmer and produced drafts for his seminal work, "Erewhon." Upon returning to England, he became a notable literary figure, publishing several works, including a sequel to "Erewhon" and the posthumous "The Way of All Flesh," which critiques Victorian morality. Butler passed away in 1902 and was cremated in London.
