The narrative details the journey of the 7th Battalion of the Royal Norfolk Regiment from its formation during World War II through its disbandment in August 1944. Initially part of the 51st (Highland) Infantry Division, the battalion faced significant challenges, including heavy casualties during the fall of France. After reformation in 1941, it participated in the Normandy campaign, where Captain David Jamieson earned the Victoria Cross for his valor. Ultimately, due to manpower shortages, the battalion was disbanded, with its soldiers reassigned to other divisions.
