Years later, Hunter's a lawyer in the same town, Tyler Benson's a P.I. who works nights at the bar. Lilly, now called Lacey, runs a successful business in New York City; she's even engaged. When Hunter and Ty find out the uncle is about to declare Lilly dead and claim her estate, Ty coaxes Lacey back to Hawken's Cove to deal with her past, her uncle, and the promises of love they thought would last forever.
