The pandemic has awakened an intense interest in global health issues which is likely to continue post-Covid. These issues are now seen as of immediate, rather than remote or indirect, relevance. It is an opportune moment, as the world emerges from the pandemic and started rebuilding health systems, to offer a book that provides an overview of the challenges all countries currently face and the roles that nurses can and do play in health care delivery around the world. Despite the above, there are very few books targeted at nurses in this field. Given the subject, and the eminence of the authors and contributors, the translation opportunities should be wide-ranging.
