After a traumatic incident at a Halloween dance, Clint Holden, along with a group of friends, chance acquaintances and family members, finds himself transported into a strange new world. The city of Karmaridon, under the authority of the Salvations Alliance, faces constant threat from the malevolent Fury comprising all manner of mystical creatures, and the prospect of war is never far away. Both powers are desperate to secure possession of the mysterious Requiem and will stop at nothing in their quest. Clint and his friends have to adapt to a colorful world full of resourceful creatures and quaint customs and where those uttering a lie put themselves in mortal danger. When the Alliance reveals a riddle that Clint and his party are required to solve, a desperate race against time and a battle of wits and ingenuity ensue for which failure will mean the end of civilization.
