En savoir plus sur le livre

This book investigates the problem of women trafficking in Nepal through a globalization and sociological point of view. The theoretical framework, based mainly on Kathleen Barry’s theory of Dehumanization, paired with globalization theories and concepts, helped analyze and utilize the empirical data, thus giving a better understanding of the issue of women trafficking in Nepal. The epistemological stance of the thesis, interpretivism, helped interpret theories in to a new context and successfully answered the research question, ''How does the society, in terms of identity, and globalization contribute in the objectification of women for trafficking in Nepal?''. The empirical data consists of official reports by UN WOMEN, Maiti Nepal and several other NGOs and INGOs; furthermore, it includes interviews of experts working with the issue of women trafficking in Nepal. The knowledge and the understanding built by the help of constructionist ontology of the thesis produced a conclusion which the research question aimed for.
