The river was not navigable, but road, canal and railway encouraged the development of the three communities of Street Cobham, Church Cobham and Tilt Cobham. The story of a community of wide variety and one of the largest parishes in the country - from non-conformity to Utopia, from royal mistresses to philosophers, from stately homes to car manufacture.
