-- Laura Di Bianco was awarded a Johns Hopkins Catalyst Award in 2020, which support the most promising research and creative endeavors of early career faculty. She worked previously at the Italy's national film school, Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia, as an iconographic researcher, curator, and production coordinator for documentary films, photo exhibitions, and publications. -- Invisibility of Italian women's cinema in the international film industry and in related scholarly discourses has resulted in startling omissions of Italian women directors in global cinema scholarship (see Patricia White 2015 and Veronica Pravadelli 2018).
