Phillipa Soo, who earned a Tony nomination playing the role of Elizabeth Schuyler Hamilton in the Broadway musical Hamilton, is writing the foreword to a new child-aimed biography of the real-life character, who is called Eliza in the show. Schwartz & Wade Books, an imprint of Random House Children’s Books, will publish Eliza: The Story of Elizabeth Schuyler Hamilton, a picture book biography by Christopher Award winner Margaret McNamara. Publication is scheduled for a date to be announced in fall 2017. In addition to being Alexander Hamilton's wife, Schuyler founded New York City’s first private orphanage, raised funds to build the Washington Monument and preserved her husband's legacy. “I have lived and breathed Eliza’s story for the past two years,” Soo said in a prepared statement. “I could not be more thrilled to be included in her narrative for young readers.” http://www.playbill.com/article/hamil...
