En savoir plus sur le livre

On a creepy island where everyone is fixated on 1994, a newcomer arrives to uncover the truth about her son’s death, only to be drawn deeper into the community's bizarre customs. When Willow Stone discovers the words "Clifford Island" written in her deceased son’s bedroom, she is puzzled. Unfamiliar with the place, she learns it’s a small island in Wisconsin, 200 miles from her home. Driven to find answers, she travels there. Upon arrival, Willow realizes something is off; the islanders are stuck in a time warp, wearing outdated clothes, avoiding modern technology, and obsessively watching the OJ Simpson car chase nightly. When she probes for information, the locals are evasive, but she receives a cryptic warning: "Close your curtains at night." Lily Becker, a high schooler who has lived on Clifford her whole life, is frustrated with the island's bizarre traditions. Having visited the mainland, she knows there’s a normal world outside. Determined to expose the islanders’ beliefs as false, she faces challenges. Five weeks after Willow's arrival, she mysteriously disappears. Her brother, Harper, comes searching for her, only to uncover the island's dark secrets. He becomes resolute in revealing the truth, but escaping may prove perilous.
