The International Conference on Theoretical Physics, TH-2002, was held in Paris from July 22 to 27 at the UNESCO Conference Center, organized under the auspices of IUPAP and supported by various French, European, and international institutions. The event attracted around 1200 participants from diverse fields within modern theoretical physics. The scientific program featured 18 plenary lectures, 45 general lectures in thematic sessions, and 140 specialized lectures, with contributions partly invited and partly selected from participant proposals. Additionally, approximately 500 contributions were presented as posters. The plenary and general lectures were designed for a broad audience of theorists, not limited to specialists. In line with commitments to UNESCO and sponsors, TH-2002 awarded over 200 fellowships, primarily to scientists from developing countries and Eastern Europe, covering registration fees and, for many, accommodation expenses. Notable moments included the opening ceremony on July 22, attended by Mrs. Claudie Haignere, French Minister of Research, and M. Walter Erdelen, UNESCO's General Adjoint Director for Sciences. Their addresses were well-received and are included in the conference documentation, preceding the inaugural lecture by Nobel laureate Professor Cohen-Tannoudji.
