En savoir plus sur le livre

In this high-stakes thriller set in the world of Robert Kirkman's The Walking Dead, three individuals in China—a rural farmer, an urban military veteran, and a Chinese American grad student—navigate a landscape overrun by undead walkers as a devastating virus spreads across the country. The remnants of the Chinese government estimate that one billion jiangshi are now roaming the land. Survivors have banded together in vertical settlements for protection against the relentless tide of the undead. Zhu, once a poor farmer seeking better opportunities in a factory town, leads a scavenging team that includes Ella, a grad student studying abroad, and Hengyen, a seasoned military officer. As they struggle to provide for the settlement's 5,000 residents, Zhu returns to his village, where he discovers unexpected survivors. Faced with a dilemma, he must decide whether to bring them into the settlement or keep their existence hidden. Meanwhile, a massive wave of walkers approaches, and Hengyen grapples with the impossible task of fortifying their defenses. Zhu contemplates fleeing to the mountains, but Hengyen is determined to prevent any desertions. With time running out, the three must confront overwhelming odds and find a way to survive.
