Comprised of 49 drawings, this book was conceived as acontinuation of the artistic collaboration between Kai Althoff and artist Nick Z, which was first established in their 2007 joint exhibition at Gladstone Gallery, “We Are Better Friends For It.”Entitled, Dream Cereal, this book further explores the underlying themes of their exhibition and collaboration, borrowing from moments of history, religious iconography, and counter-cultural movements to create evocative contexts that are propped upon narratives simultaneously arcane yet familiar, at once deeply personal yet universal. Each work was made together by Althoff and Nick Z. Die Publikation kann als Fortführung der Zusammenarbeit der Künstler Kai Althoff und Nick Z aufgefasst werden. Bereits 2007 stellten sie in der Gladstone Gallery gemeinsame Werke aus. „Dream Cereal“ greift nun die der Ausstellung zugrunde liegenden Themen neu auf. Die Künstler bedienen sich bekannter Motive aus Geschichte, Ikonographie und kulturellen Bewegungen, um Zusammenhänge zwischen Verborgenem und Bekanntem, Persönlichem und Allgemeinem sichtbar und erfahrbar zu machen. Alle in der Publikation versammelten Arbeiten wurden von den Künstlern in gemeinsamer Zusammenarbeit geschaffen.
