En savoir plus sur le livre
At first glance, knowledge transfer and product development processes in the automotive industry appear to have been extensively researched over the past two decades. However, Oppat demonstrates that there is still room for new and exciting discoveries. While knowledge transfer has been thoroughly examined, much of the focus has been on the success factors of the transfer process. Oppat shifts the emphasis to the front-end, concentrating on the input to the process. Through numerous interviews and careful observations, he explores the effects of the sender and the disseminative capabilities, which are crucial for the receiving, or absorptive, part of the transfer chain. This research is particularly engaging as it merges theoretical concepts with a unique aspect of the automotive industry. The cases presented do not involve typical supplier-OEM relationships but rather a complex pattern of collaboration, examining the outsourcing of the integral value chain from car model development to manufacturing and distribution. The enjoyment of this work is further enhanced by Oppat's fluent writing and insightful illustrations, making the exploration of these topics both informative and captivating.
