En savoir plus sur le livre

Our understanding of innovation processes has evolved significantly in recent decades. Interactive models now highlight the importance of networking activities within and across firms, emphasizing the role of knowledge spillovers in forming networks. Recent research has increasingly focused on these spillovers, tracing back to Alfred Marshall's early work on external economies and 'industrial districts.' This collection presents a synthesis of current knowledge in the Economics of Innovation, reviewing established concepts and offering research findings that provide insights into innovation, network formation, and knowledge generation from a regional perspective. By compiling various articles and book chapters, this work presents a novel approach to the subject. It is published alongside another volume, Spatial Analysis and GeoComputation: Selected Essays. The contributions in this collection are largely multi-authored, reflecting the collaborative nature of the research. All co-authors deserve recognition for their roles in the scientific contributions included in this volume.
