Matthias Scharlach, born in Germany in 1950, spent his formative years there before completing a locksmith apprenticeship. He then pursued a career in education, becoming a certified teacher of mathematics and physics, and later shifted his focus to personality psychology. His academic journey included several years as a university lecturer, writing doctoral theses, and publishing work in Germany and internationally. In 1989, he became a professor and founded a university institute for educational sciences. At 41, he transitioned from academia to the private sector, conducting seminars on management training, change management, personal development, and career planning. His foray into prose emerged from engaging discussions with diverse figures in politics, business, and culture, leading to the creation of aphorisms that reflect human behavior in decision-making. His “Enjoy Your Business” booklet compiles these insights, encouraging readers to reflect and improve. Scharlach's life philosophy is to approach endeavors with enthusiasm and commitment. He enjoys a rich family life with his wife and two sons, appreciates good food, and has a passion for foreign cultures and problem-solving. His favorite authors include Raymond Chandler and Jonas Jonasson, and he admires the works of painter Bruno Bruni, alongside the music of Dire Straits and Maurice Ravel.
