En savoir plus sur le livre
This collection features the classic Borrowers stories by Mary Norton, where tiny people live secretly in old houses, borrowing from unsuspecting humans. Arrietty, the only child of expert Borrower Pod, breaks the rules of borrowing and befriends a human boy, leading to constant danger as they must avoid being seen. In the second story, the Pod family embarks on a perilous journey to the countryside to join relatives, adapting to their new life. The third tale sees Arrietty longing for sunlight after becoming homeless again, while the fourth places the family in a model village, where they must dodge visitors and a rival village owner intent on capturing them. In the final story, the Borrowers find refuge in an old rectory but face threats from the Potters, who ultimately meet their fate, allowing the Borrowers to live peacefully. Additionally, "Poor Stainless" follows a young Borrower boy who goes missing during a borrowing mission, prompting a frantic search. First published in 1952, the series won the Carnegie Medal and includes five sequels, with the last story written by Norton before her passing in 1992.
