Following a general introduction in chapter 1, chapter 2 condenses the industrial challenges stemming from the German “Industry 4.0” trend, forming a vision for future production industries. Chapter 3 introduces S-BPM concepts and their capabilities, particularly in restructuring processes. The next three chapters present various case studies, including an SME that produces unique machinery for the automotive and electronics sectors, and another SME specializing in customized floor cleaning machines. The final two chapters summarize achievements and lessons learned, outlining future directions. Overall, the book offers a realistic portrayal of the current landscape based on recent findings and highlights the activities necessary to establish stakeholder-centered digital production systems.
