This collection of essays offers a comprehensive analysis of the political systems of post-Yugoslav states. The first three chapters constitute a necessary introduction to subsequent analyses of individual states, reflecting on the specificity of the Balkan region, its political history, and the character of political transformations that are still taking place. In their analyses of the political systems of individual nation-states, the authors follow a similar pattern, focusing on the following the evolution of the political system, the constitution and basic principles of the political system, the parliament, the head of state, the government, the judiciary, and the system of political parties.
