Audiences are a key element of courtly life and represent a central aspect of power dynamics in various societies. They functioned not only as a means of representation but also as platforms for negotiation and political decision-making. The ceremonial nature of audiences served to strengthen the connections between rulers and their subjects, as well as among the elite and their dynastic backgrounds.
