Rand's debut published work is a hard one to swallow. At least it was when it was originally published, it is much easier to digest these days. Kane's ultimate achievement, though, is bringing the work into context with a post-pandemic society. The second dark age of man could be upon us, but Rand and Kane remind us that our children's children will break free of tyranny should our generation fall to the whims of psychotic despots.
