International trade, finance, and investment policies in Argentina

En savoir plus sur le livre

In this conference proceedings, German and Argentine economists and lawyers explore Argentina's economic policy concerning international trade, finance, and investment. The first section features Estefania Guzmán Calderón and Ulrich Schüle, who analyze the macroeconomic environment from a historical perspective, while Marc Piazolo addresses current macroeconomic policy issues in Argentina. The second section focuses on the finance sector, with Christian Armbruster and Rene Ruppenthal discussing the development of mutual funds in Latin America from a European investors' viewpoint, contrasted by Martín Dutto's analysis of Argentina's financial system from an internal perspective. The final section debates selected issues significantly impacting Argentina's international trade and investment performance. Andrés Musacchio and María Archimbal examine recent re-nationalization policies, using pension funds and the energy company YPF as examples. Viviana Kluger discusses Argentina's actions in trade dispute cases, while Lydia Bals investigates the potential for Argentina to become a global sourcing destination, which could enhance economic performance. These articles were presented at a conference held at Hochschule Mainz, Germany, in June 2014, under the auspices of the Centro Universitario Argentino-Alemán (CUAA) Deutsch-Argentinisches Hochschulzentrum (DAHZ).
