The Tong-Tài dialects, part of the Jiang-Huái Mandarin group, are situated in the Tàizhou region of Jiangsu, north of the Yangtze watershed. They represent the southernmost boundary of the Mandarin dialect area, adjacent to the Wú dialect region.
