Peer reviewed proceedings of digital landscape architecture 2014

En savoir plus sur le livre

Increasing awareness in science and practice highlights that large and complex spatial problems require multiple disciplinary perspectives. Regional impacts cannot be captured by simple linear models, and many stakeholders are engaged in multiparty processes for spatial and large-scale landscape design. Technological advancements in computing, communication, and collaboration have led to new tools and approaches that support information-based design effectively. This has given rise to the concept of “geodesign,” which utilizes geographic knowledge, often enhanced by digital technology, to collaboratively address significant social and environmental challenges while shaping our future environments. The recent Digital Landscape Architecture (DLA) conferences aim to clarify how geodesign concepts differ from traditional planning and design, explore current geodesign methods, and identify evolving tools and techniques. These proceedings document the peer-reviewed abstracts and papers from the DLA 2014 conference, held in Zurich, Switzerland, focusing on various aspects of geodesign, including case studies, methods, tools, and education. Organized by ETH Zurich, this conference is part of a series led by Scientific Director Prof. Erich Buhmann, with contributions vetted through a rigorous peer review process. The event serves as a platform for the ECLAS Committee Digital Technology and experts in the field.
