Semantic annotations enable neutral mashups to evolve into branded semantic mashups, with deeper processing like reasoning as a subsequent step. The chapters explore the diverse landscape of semantic mashups, starting with two overview sections that introduce the environments where mashups thrive and the regulations they encounter. Subsequent chapters delve into key contexts like DBpedia, search engines, and the Web of Things, highlighting the practical implications of mashups in everyday experiences and innovative developments.
