It is a privilege to introduce this Instructional Lecture book for the 11th EFORT Congress, which combines the National society SECOT and the European Federation EFORT. The selected topics are original and engaging, setting the stage for future discussions. EFORT aims to share the latest knowledge on musculoskeletal diseases and trauma with surgeons across Europe, while also welcoming colleagues from Latin America and Asia. The scientific program covers various aspects of Orthopaedics and Traumatology, focusing on recent advancements in treating infections, metastatic disease, trauma care, and arthroplasty registers from a European perspective. Our Instructional Lecturers hail from diverse regions, offering insights into various diseases and sharing their unique national philosophies, thereby broadening our European horizons. As chairman of the Local Organising Committee, I extend my gratitude to all Lecturers for their valuable contributions to this publication. Special thanks to Professor George Bentley for organizing this edition. EFORT deserves recognition for its commitment to providing training materials for Orthopaedic surgeons, particularly through this selection of Instructional Lectures for the Congress in Madrid.
