The concept of telematics emerged over a decade ago, defined as a communication system for collecting, processing, and distributing information. The transport services market is the primary area for telematic applications. Transport-telematics encompasses a field of knowledge that merges information technology and telecommunications to manage and control traffic in transport systems, enhancing their effectiveness and safety. Integrated telematic applications form intelligent transport systems, which rely on the efficient collection, processing, and management of information flow. This allows real-time access to data across various transport activities. Intelligent transport systems, supported by integrated telecommunications, IT measurement, control engineering solutions, and appropriate software tools, utilize telematic applications extensively. They facilitate the integration of various transport means, types, infrastructure, and management processes.
