En savoir plus sur le livre

Artificial immune systems (AIS) represent a developing research area that connects immunology and computation. Initially focused on applying immunological principles to practical computational problems in fields like computer security, data mining, and optimization, AIS has since diversified. There is now a growing interest in formalizing the theoretical properties of earlier approaches and exploring the relationships between applied computational models and theoretical immunology. Additionally, the field is revisiting its origins, applying computer science methods to immunological modeling problems. The ICARIS conference serves as a forum for these diverse perspectives. The 9th International Conference on AIS (ICARIS 2010) built on the successes of prior years, returning to Edinburgh, the site of the Second ICARIS in 2003. Hosted by Edinburgh Napier University at its newly refurbished Craiglockhart Campus, the conference showcased the significant maturation of the field. A substantial theoretical research track now supports the discipline, while the applied stream has broadened, demonstrating AIS algorithms across various practical problems, from sensor networks to semiconductor design.
