Over 1.6 billion people currently live in cities, more than half of the global population, a figure that continues to rise. Megacities, defined as urban areas with over 10 million inhabitants, numbered just two in 1950—New York and Tokyo. Today, there are nineteen, and this number is expected to reach thirty within a decade, accommodating two-thirds of the world's population. As urban areas become our primary habitat, what can we anticipate from these metropolitan landscapes? How does architecture shape our experiences, and is there a distinct youth culture emerging from these environments? This exploration introduces fourteen cities projected to be the largest by 2020, each captured through the lens of different photographers who offer their unique perspectives on the "Megapolis" landscape. Their work focuses on urbanity, showcasing architecture, youth, trends, and the overall atmosphere of these cities. Selected for their impactful and contemporary visual styles, these photographers provide insights into the future of society, reflecting the diverse experiences within megacities. Through their varied viewpoints, we engage with the evolving narrative of tomorrow's urban landscape, whether through a book, wall art, or fleeting thoughts.
