En savoir plus sur le livre
Rudolf de Crignis, a Swiss artist who passed away on December 23, 2006, in New York, has long been represented in the collection of the Kunstraum Alexander Bürkle in Freiburg. After training in Zurich, he settled in New York in 1987, where he created his mature works within the context of American abstract painting. His later pieces, characterized by ultramarine and gray monochromes, reached their pinnacle in recent years. In conjunction with an exhibition, de Crignis completed his final space installation featuring four newly created gray paintings. The Kunstraum Alexander Bürkle is dedicated to preserving his memory and promoting his work publicly. This publication, featuring extensive illustrations and texts, documents de Crignis's oeuvre. It includes a record of the space installation and writings by the artist himself. In tribute, contributions from friends, gallerists, curators, and collectors have been included. Additionally, a CD featuring a sound piece composed by Swiss musician Roland Dahinden in memory of de Crignis accompanies the publication. Contributions come from various notable figures, enriching the commemoration of his artistic legacy.
